Chametz Form

  • The Torah prohibits possessing chametz, or leavened grains and mixtures of that for the duration of the Passover holiday. As disposing of that can be difficult, Jew traditionally sell their chametz to a gentile for the holiday, while it remains in your home. The rabbi purchases it back on your behalf when the holiday is over. This sale is facilitated by a rabbi versed in the Jewish and civil details of such a transaction, costs you nothing, and is a mitzvah.
