Eternal Kindness: The Western Arizona Jewish Cemetery
In Jewish tradition, establishing a dedicated, sacred cemetery is one of the highest priorities for any thriving Jewish community. For many years, families across Lake Havasu City and Western Arizona facing the loss of a loved one had to look far outside our area to arrange a traditional Jewish burial, facing steep costs and long distances.
Through a special partnership at the historical Hi Jolly Cemetery in Quartszite, Arizona, Chabad of Lake Havasu City has established a dedicated Jewish section. This sacred space ensures that every local Jewish man and woman can rest in accord with centuries of Jewish tradition, right here in the community they called home.
Costs: Our plots cost us $650 each, with opening and closing at the time of burial adding another $600 (mortuary fees are separate). This is in contrast with the average costs of $8,000 at other Southwest Jewish cemeteries.
Every month, Chabad of Lake Havasu City receives calls from hospices and family members in Havasu, Bullhead City, Kingman and beyond about Jewish patients. We offer all such families to cover the costs of Jewish burial if finances mean they will otherwise choose cremation, G‑d forbid.
We are partnering with other Chabad centers in Arizona as well as the Arizona Meis Mitzvah Project.
Be a Part of This Sacred Mitzvah
By sponsoring a plot ($650), you directly support the acquisition, development, and ongoing care of our local Jewish cemetery. Sponsoring a plot is a powerful act of Chesed Shel Emes (true kindness) that builds a lasting legacy for Western Arizona for generations to come.
